Whitiwhiti Kōrero with Kaumātua
In a world where genuine connection is often missing, there is immense value in sitting down and sharing time with our kaumātua. Their stories, experiences, wisdom, and guidance offer perspectives that can enrich our understanding of ourselves, our communities, and the world around us.
Whitiwhiti Kōrero with Kaumātua is a unique opportunity to spend time in meaningful conversation with our kaumātua while taking part in hands-on cultural activities such as raranga (weaving). Through shared stories, laughter, learning, and creativity, participants can strengthen connections across generations and gain insights that are often unavailable in everyday life.
This workshop creates a welcoming space to listen, learn, and engage, fostering a deeper appreciation of mātauranga Māori, cultural traditions, and the importance of whakawhanaungatanga.
“Mā te whakarongo, ka mōhio. Mā te mōhio, ka mārama. Mā te mārama, ka mātau. Mā te mātau, ka ora.”
Through listening comes knowledge. Through knowledge comes understanding. Through understanding comes wisdom. Through wisdom comes wellbeing.
Join us as we come together to honour the wisdom of our kaumātua, strengthen community connections, and embrace the wellbeing that comes from learning through listening.
